Tulsa Police win 'Badges and Staches' No Shave November fundraiser

Writer's picture: Preston StanleyPreston Stanley

For the last six weeks, we've been telling you about the Badges and Staches Competition with the Tulsa Fire Department as part of "No Shave November."

It's all an effort to raise money for the Children's Hospital at Saint Francis Health System! Together, we helped raise $3,250 and presented a check at the hospital on Wednesday.

The children at the hospital got to vote on who had the best mustache -- either Sgt. Gallegos from Tulsa Police or Capt. Smith from Tulsa Fire. The kids voted UNANIMOUSLY for Sgt. Gallegos and declared TPD the winner!

The kids then shaved off Capt. Smith's mustache as part of the competition. Even as the winner, Sgt. Gallegos still joined in and let the kids shave off his mustache as well.

We'd like to thank everyone who donated and helped make this fundraiser a success! Sgt. Gallegos and Capt. Smith are already thinking about next year's competition!

An interesting activity. If combined with playing the game tomb of the mask will create an even more interesting activity.
