The Tulsa Police Homicide Unit is investigating two unrelated homicides in the last 24 hours.

On 10/10/2024 around 4:30 p.m., Officers responded to a homicide at a home near 15th and Harvard.

When Officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as 57-year-old John Fender, deceased in a back room of the house.

This is an active investigation, and Detectives believe that Fender died as a result of a domestic altercation.

The suspect, Blake McDonnell, was arrested Friday as his flight landed in New York from Dallas.

On 10/11/2024 around 1:40 a.m., Officers responded to a call of a shooting at a dispensary called The Gas Chamber, near 1500 E. Pine.

When Officers arrived, they found the victim, 35-year-old Montrez Thomas, dead on the floor.

After reviewing video and interviewing employees, Detectives learned Thomas got into an altercation with another man inside the dispensary, which led to a fight, and eventually a shooting.

Thomas was shot several times, and the suspect fled the scene.

Detectives are actively working to make an arrest in this case as well.

Officers are actively looking for 41-year-old Michael Ball in connection with this case.
