The first weekend in December means it was time for our annual Shop with a Cop event, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tulsa in partnership with Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police.
The event was held this morning at the Walmart at Admiral and Memorial!
Every year since 2002, the Rotary Club of Tulsa hosts the annual outreach event to at-risk Tulsa youth who may have only negative impressions of police officers.
On a Saturday morning during the holiday season, volunteer Rotarians and Officers meet with the children in a store and go over their wish list of presents for their parents and siblings.
While the Officer and child wander the aisles shopping for family members, a Rotarian secretly shops for the child.
This year, Officers helped shop with more than 30 students from Celia Clinton Elementary.
Special thanks to the Officers who volunteered to take part, and thanks to the Rotary and the FOP for hosting such a great event each year to kick off the holiday season!

It’s heartwarming to see officers building positive relationships with the youth. It reminds me of the innocence test - moments like these truly showcase the goodness in our community. Thank you to everyone involved for making this holiday season brighter for the kids!
Officers volunteered and expressed gratitude to Rotary happy wheels and FOP for organizing this fantastic annual event to start the holiday season.
