Tulsa K9 Unit competes in USPCA Region 11 Trials


The Tulsa Police Department's K9 Unit competed in the USPCA Region 11 Trials last weekend.


The unit competed against units from Oklahoma City, Edmond, Bixby, Sapulpa and Cleveland County -- and TPD took home some hardware.


  • K9 Officer Mattsson and K9 Clyde took 3rd Place in the Overall Competition.

  • K9 Officer Anderson and K9 Taz took 2nd Place in the Obedience and Criminal Apprehension category as well as 2nd Place in the Overall Competition.

  • K9 Officer Eric Johnson and K9 Jugger took 1st Place in the Obedience and Criminal Apprehension category as well as 1st Place in the Overall Competition.

  • All six of the Tulsa Police K9s that competed qualified on the Patrol Dog 1 Course.

  • Officer Johnson and Jugger won the Narcotics Detection category as well on Thursday.
