A man is in custody after a double shooting outside a Tulsa convenience store on Friday.
Tulsa police officers responded to the shooting call near 61st Street and Peoria around 8 p.m. after a woman said she and her boyfriend had been shot. Officers arrived to find both victims with gunshot wounds.
The woman who called was taken to the hospital to be treated for her wound on her chest. Her boyfriend, 24-year-old Kareem King, was taken to the hospital but died from his gunshot wound to the head.
The woman said there was an altercation that led to the shooting and pointed officers in the direction that the group who shot her and King left in. Shortly after, officers responded to a different call at a nearby apartment where they found a group matching the desctription from the shooting.
After gathering evidence and interviews, police arrested Jaquan Stites who's facing charges of First-Degree Manslaughter, Assault with a Deadly Weapon After Former Conviction of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
