The non-profit Urban Search and Rescue Foundation is selling $25 calendars featuring the K9s of Oklahoma Task Force-1.
OK-TF1 is a state urban search and rescue team. The K9 Handlers come from multiple agencies, including the Tulsa Fire Department, Tulsa Police, Owasso Fire, Broken Arrow Fire, and Mercy Regional EMS.
All of the K9s are trained and certified as either Type 1 Live Find or Type 1 Human Remains Detection K9s. All of the agencies are represented in the calendar!
The handlers and their dogs work and train timelessly to be ready to serve our community in the event of a disaster. However, the handlers get no monetary reimbursement for any veterinary expenses that are incurred by the canines. Our search and rescue canines are vital in a search and recovery effort. All proceeds from the calendars go toward training and medical care!
In 2024 the K9 team deployed to multiple disaster scenes including the Barnsdall tornado, Claremore tornado, and to Florida for Hurricane Milton. In addition, the dogs have responded to multiple missing person searches in and around the Tulsa area.
We're proud of the work OK-TF1 does, and we hope you'll help support them!
