HISTORY
On July 21, 2004, the Department of Justice, through the President's Family Justice Center Initiative, awarded more than $20 million to 15 communities across the United States to prevent and respond to violence against women. The City of Tulsa was one of the 15 communities to receive this grant.
The purpose of the grant was to provide a single location where victims and their families can quickly and confidentially seek information and resources regarding domestic violence and select services based on individual needs or circumstances.
The Family Safety Center houses a variety of collaborative partners in order to provide clients with easier access to services for victims of domestic violence and refers clients to many other off-site partners for additional services.
