On February 16, 1978 the victim had been working late in the office as a manager at Grigsby’s World of Carpet located at 7309 S. Memorial Drive. At about 10:30 p.m. the victim's wife became concerned about her husband. A co-worker was contacted and requested to go to the store and check on the victim. Upon arrival he discovered all the doors locked and the lights off. The victim was lying on the floor dead. The victim was shot and died from a gunshot wound.
