On January 7, 1987 at 8:40 a.m. the victim had taken her son to school and returned home. The victim's neighbor asked if the victim would watch her child because her child was ill and she had to go to work. Later that day there was a knock on the front door. The victim opened the door and was assaulted by the suspect. The child was on the couch and the suspect told her not to get off the couch because of spiders and snakes. The victim's husband returned home at 2:30 p.m. and found the victim dead inside the residence. The victim died from blunt force trauma.
