On April 17, 1981 at 11:45 p.m. the victim was discovered down in the roadway at 1300 S. Sheridan Rd. Four to five unknown suspects were observed assaulting the victim. Haley was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on April 22, 1981. Cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma; the weapon was unknown. Haley was 19 years old at the time of his passing.
